Meet Noah Messiah, 7 year old published author of “My Hands” !! 

It wasn’t until he, his mom, and his brother moved to America that he began, at a very young age, to understand that society often tried to stereotype him and his family. Labels were quickly placed on him to identify who he was as a Hispanic and Black child in America, as well as on his brother, who has special needs. As a result of his mother’s teaching, he was empowered to find his voice and did not want to be confined to a box of who others felt he was supposed to be. He wanted to spread the message that one’s color, gender, ability, or circumstance does not define who they are. Rather, who a person chooses to be through their actions and character demonstrates who they truly are.

Next, meet A’la Eisah Eatman, for his 6th Birthday, he too, will be a published Author of “Eisah and the String”! 

Eisah participated in Journal Joy’s Emerging Young Author Workshop of 2021 where he had the opportunity to learn to write his own book. Eisah is a scholar who loves to read, do math problems, explore science concepts, complete puzzles, and do basic coding on his tablet. He learned to read by the time he was 2 years old and currently enjoys reading small chapter books. He can find joy in simple everyday things, like a piece of string, and connecting it to things he has already learned.
